Winners of Didgoreli Revealed

More than 2000 young people have participated in the history contest, which has been held in the Kvemo Kartli region since 2019, with RMG’s support.

National Parliamentary Library of Georgia hosted the event to reveal the winners of the “Didgoreli” history competition. This time, at the event, the winners from Tetritskaro and Akhaltsikhe municipalities were announced and awarded.

The winner of the Didgoreli from Akhaltsikhe region became Mariam Komoshvili – the student of the #5 public school, while from the Tetritskaro municipality, the twin sisters – Ani Chokheli and Mariam Chokheli showed the best results. For the first time in the history of Didgoreli, the competition jury decided to select two winners instead of one, because the girls showed the same – highest result in all rounds of the contest. Traditionally, the winners will be awarded a 6-month scholarship from Rich Metals Group (RMG).

“I am happy to see so many young people are interested in the history of Georgia in every new season of Didgoreli. This competition is not only about memorizing specific important dates from the books and getting high marks in the test; Didgoreli first of all is a unity of young people who love to learn, develop, take challenges, make new friends, and who love their country. The scholarship established by RMG is aimed at encouraging such young people and their development.” – Natalie Nozadze, RMG’s Public Relations Manager.

Didgoreli is a history contest for high-school pupils, started in the Kvemo Kartli region back in 2019 and until now, has been conducted in 10 different regions of Georgia. The project is designed for high-school students and aims at strengthening knowledge of Georgian History among youth.

The project is multi-componential and includes contest preparations, as well as educational extra-class events, such as visits to the museums and libraries, attending lectures, organizing student conferences, creating mini-movies on historical themes, etc.

Together with RMG, Didgoreli gained many supporters, including the National Parliamentary Library of Georgia, and the Military Training and Education Command of the Defence Forces of Georgia.

Within the company’s corporate responsibility, RMG follows the UN Sustainable Development Goals and prioritizes several of them, including the goal of quality education accessibility. In this regard, the company implements various educational initiatives, including the university student programs implemented within the RMG-GTU Partnership and non-formal educational projects for school pupils, such as Didgoreli.
