A memorandum of understanding was signed between RMG and Grigol Tsulukidze Mining Institute. The purpose of the memorandum is to ensure the collaboration for the improvement of mining technologies in Georgia and explore potential cooperation in other central areas.
The MoU was signed by Joni Shubitidze, Executive Director of RMG and Professor Nikoloz Chikhradze, Directorof the Mining Institute.
The memorandum between the parties entails extensive cooperation and aims at refining and improving mining-technological processes in Georgia.
“Since 2018, we have signed a number of memorandums in different directions. Among them, cooperation with educational and scientific institutions are integral for us and every year, we closely collaborate with these partners.
The partnership between our enterprise and the Mining Institute counts many years and I think that this partnership proves success and mutual benefits for both parties. There are several areas on which we work together throughout the year; For example, in order to ensure transparency, the drilling and blasting operations at our quarries are monitored by various civic organizations, for whom the seismic monitoring is implemented and provided by the Mining Institute. Along with this, with the involvement of the Mining Institute, seismic monitoring is carried out on cultural heritage monuments located adjacent to our deposits. I think that this cooperation is very fruitful and after the signing of the memorandum, it will continue even further.” – Joni Shubitidze, RMG’s Executive Director.
“We are honored to enter into this agreement with RMG, a leading mining company in the Caucasus region known for its commitment to supporting youth, academia, and the broader scientific community, as well as its contributions to the country’s development.
Since its foundation, the goal of the Mining Institute has been to serve Georgian mining enterprises in order to make the process of our country’s mineral resource extraction as rational as possible, and this memorandum also illustrates this.
The Grigol Tsulukidze Mining Institute, with its laboratories and skilled personnel, has always been open for miners and students and will continue to do so in the future. Georgia holds immense potential to lead in the mining industry, and I’m confident that our collaborative efforts will contribute significantly to this endeavor.” – Nikoloz Chikhradze, Directorof the Mining Institute.
The MoU signing event was held at RMG’s office and was attended by representatives of scientific circles, company employees and students from Georgian Technical University.
