RMG’s Deputy Director for Environmental Protection, Aleksandre Devidze, presented on behalf of the company at Mining Forum 2026, Germany’s leading mining forum.
Held in Berlin, the forum was organized by DMT Group with the support of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy. The event brought together more than 400 experts from over 20 countries.
The central theme of Mining Forum 2026 was ensuring access to critical minerals and developing sustainable, resilient supply chains for mineral raw materials. Recognized as one of the German mining industry’s most significant international events, the forum united around 400 guests presenting experts, industry representatives, policymakers and researchers from more than 20 countries, and featured more than 50 presentations and panel discussions over the course of its two-day program.
At the conference, Aleksandre Devidze delivered a presentation titled “Georgia’s Mining Law in Transition.” His report examined the evolution of Georgia’s regulatory framework for mineral resource development, highlighting the impact of the investment climate, ESG principles, and the impact of country’s legal and institutional ties with the European Union on the sector’s development. The presentation emphasized the need to modernize mining governance through a balanced approach that strengthens investment attractiveness, promotes the responsible development of mineral resources, enhances environmental governance, and advances alignment with European legal and regulatory standards.
Alongside the conference, RMG representatives also attended the Mining Exhibition, where they explored the latest technologies, equipment, and innovative solutions shaping the mining industry. These advancements support the development of responsible, sustainable, and efficient mining operations.
