RMG Representatives Visit the UK

RMG representatives take part in the 10th UN Global Compact European Business and Human Rights Peer Learning Meeting.

The event (Navigating European Due Diligence Regulation) focused on the European Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive and brought together representatives from leading companies across EU member states who are actively engaged in human rights initiatives. Over the two-day meeting, RMG employees participated in hands-on workshops and attended expert-led seminars on business and human rights.

Since 2022, RMG has been a member of the UN Global Compact’s Georgian Network and an official signatory of the Global Compact Principles. The company is actively involved in sustainability initiatives and is committed to aligning its internal processes with international standards.

Prior to attending this high-profile event in London, company’s employes from HR and Legal departments completed a six-month acceleration program on business and human rights, organized by the UNGC Network. As part of this program, the team developed a detailed action plan, the implementation of which will mark the next step in the company’s sustainability journey.

“The insights gained through both – the six-month program and the London meeting have proven to be extremely valuable for us as company representatives. When an organization embraces innovation and has a development-oriented vision, learning from the long-standing practices of international companies is truly invaluable. I’m proud to use this knowledge to help implement practical mechanisms that support business and human rights,” said Sofiko Kurashvili, Specialist, Labor and Wages Department.

As part of its corporate responsibility strategy, RMG adheres to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, with a particular focus on promoting Decent Work and Economic Growth (SDG #8). To this end, the company continues to actively work toward protecting human rights and ensuring fair labor conditions across its operations.
