With the support of RMG and the National Wine Agency, eight small wineries – members of the Wine Bolnisi Association participated in the Orange Wine Festival held in Austria on November 18.
The festival showcased 350 wines from 104 wineries representing 13 countries, including 26 wineries from Georgia.
Bolnisi wines received strong recognition from international wine experts, participating wineries, and visitors from various countries.
“This is the second year that Bolnisi wines have taken part in the Orange Wine Festival in Vienna. This year, we presented 19 wines from eight Bolnisi wineries to festival guests. The event gives us the opportunity to introduce European consumers not only to the products of the small wineries in our association, but also to the unique characteristics of the entire Kvemo Kartli region. We believe this is a valuable step toward increasing the visibility of our wines on the European market and supporting future sales. Participation in the Orange Wine Festival is another step forward for Bolnisi winemakers on the path of continuous development.” – Mate Tabaghua, member of the Wine Bolnisi Association
The Orange Wine Festival has been held annually since 2012 in various cities around the world, including Austria, Italy, and Slovenia, offering visitors the chance to discover natural amber wines produced through skin-contact winemaking methods.
In addition to their participation in the festival, Bolnisi winemakers also hosted a tasting event at a Georgian restaurant in Austria, where Bolnisi wines are already available.
“As a Georgian, I am very proud that we were given the opportunity to host you at our restaurant for the presentation of Bolnisi wines. Since 2021, we have featured two Bolnisi wines – Marbano and Brothers’ Cellar on our menu. The tasting was attended by Georgians, Austrians, and citizens of other European countries who are eager to learn about and experience Georgian wine. I hope that events like this will become a tradition and help further promote Bolnisi wines. and Georgian wine in general, throughout Europe.” – Giorgi Kerashvili, founder of the restaurant ‘Modi 1080’
For seven consecutive years, RMG has supported Bolnisi winemakers as part of its corporate social responsibility program. Strong cooperation between the private sector, the municipality, and the winemakers’ association continues to contribute to the production of high-quality Bolnisi wines, their promotion, and their export to international markets.
