RMG Awards Summer School 2025 Participants

The final event of the RMG Student Support Program, the Summer School, has successfully concluded. During the event, participating students delivered their final presentations and were awarded commemorative certificates in recognition of their achievements.

The closing ceremony of the RMG Summer School was held at the company’s Tbilisi office and was chaired by Giorgi Chkheidze, Deputy General Director for Human Resources Management. The presentations and the awards ceremony were attended by Professor Noe Khozrevanidze, Head of the Faculty of Mining and Geology and Sustainable Mountain Development at GTU, along with GTU professors Anzor Abshilava, Nodar Poporadze, and Giorgi Khetsuriani.

It is the second consecutive year that along with the students from Georgian Technical University, and the students of the Geology Department of Tbilisi State University also take part in the Summer School project.

In 2025, RMG welcomed its seventh cohort of students to the program. The RMG Summer School is a one-month paid internship initiative launched in 2018, giving students hands-on experience at the company’s enterprise in Kazreti during the summer break.

“From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed into a supportive and professional environment. The internship was led by top-level experts. Initially, we received detailed instruction on occupational safety, which helped ensure a safe working experience for us. I gained a great deal of knowledge that boosted my confidence and deepened my understanding of the field.

After completing the practical part, we presented what we learned through group presentations. My group focused on mining – specifically open-pit mining – because we were particularly drawn to that area and wanted to explore it further” – Zura Tkemaladze, Junior student, Faculty of Mining and Geology, GTU.

“The one-month internship at RMG was a significant experience for me. It gave me the chance to apply my knowledge in a real-world context and to better understand the value of my profession.

Through the summer school, I saw practical examples of how theoretical knowledge translates into real-life applications and made me sure, that I chose the right career which will lead to both – personal and professional success for me.

The project also taught me responsibility, the importance of teamwork, and the value of approaching problems creatively” – Ana Zurabishvili, Sophomore student, Faculty of Mining and Geology, GTU.

As part of its corporate social responsibility initiatives, RMG prioritizes the promotion of quality education – aligned with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal #4. The company has long supported a variety of educational projects, including collaborative initiatives with GTU and other higher education institutions, such as the Summer School program.
