With the support of RMG, the 11th International Scientific-Practical Conference on Geology and Mining was held.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The 11th International Scientific-Practical Conference titled “Development of Mining and Geology as a Prerequisite for Economic Revival”<\/em> was organized by the Mineralogical Society of Georgia, Georgian Technical University, Grigol Tsulukidze Mining Institute, and the Hydrogeology and Engineering Geology Institute, and was held with the support of RMG.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The conference brought together leaders from Georgia\u2019s top universities (Georgian Technical University (GTU), Tbilisi State University (TSU), Ilia State University (IliaUni) and scientific institutions. Among the members of the conference\u2019s scientific committee was Joni Shubitidze, General Director of RMG. Company executives, along with leading engineering and technical specialists, were actively involved in both parts of the conference – the organizing committee and as speakers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n One of the featured presentations was delivered by Keti Benashvili, Head of RMG\u2019s Geotechnical Department, and together with her team, she addressed the topic of geotechnical modeling:<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWe chose to present this topic because of its growing relevance. Ensuring safe operations in the mining sector is of a top priority for us. I personally spoke about the importance of correct sourcing and processing of geotechnical data, and providing accurate recommendations for ongoing operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I believe this topic will also be of interest to students. Geotechnics is still an emerging field with its own complexity and challenges. Conferences like this provide students with valuable exposure to innovations, international practices, and local case studies.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n As in previous years, the conference focused on current issues in geology and mining, with particular attention to environmental challenges and effective solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The history and the importance of the conference was underscored by Nodar Poporadze, the President of the Mineralogical Society of Georgia, who emphasized the value of gathering professionals of this field at such events: <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cYears ago, we established the Mineralogical Society to create a platform where geologists and mining specialists – from both the public and private sectors – could regularly come together, share their challenges, and explore solutions with our shared efforts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n This conference provides a space where key issues affecting the field are brought to light. It is international in its scope, with regular participation from our foreign colleagues, who are always eager to share their experiences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n RMG\u2019s continued support has been vital through all the years – both in organizing the event and in enabling its experts to present research based on the company\u2019s ongoing projects.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n This year\u2019s conference was held as a one-day event, featuring 14 presentations.
